FIFA Secretary General visits Sao Paulo, Cuiaba, Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro, and attends the Arena das Dunas opening ceremony in Natal

FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke embarked on the first leg of the 2014 edition of the FIFA World Cup Host Cities tour. Along the week he visited the stadiums in Sao Paulo, Cuiaba and Curitiba. He was accompanied by José Maria Marin, president of the Local Organising Committee, Bebeto, member of the Local Organising Committee Board of Administration, the Sports Minister of Brazil and the Deputy Minister, Aldo Rebelo and Luis Fernandes respectively, and two-time FIFA World Cup champion Cafu. The delegation also attended the Arena das Dunas opening ceremony in Natal.
Closing the tour in Rio de Janeiro, they visited a project of the Football for Hope supported organisation Bola Para Frente. Football for Hope is an initiative FIFA launched in 2005 to support organisations who harness the power of football to bring hope and opportunity to young people. FIFA announced further programmes which will be supported by Football for Hope in 2014.
